XU You-lin: PhD, doctoral supervisor, professor of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Director of the research centre of urban disaster prevention and mitigation, the international famous researcher in the field of civil engineering. He has worked in the field of civil engineering for more than thirty years, and his main research topics include wind engineering, earthquake engineering, bridge engineering, structural health monitoring and structural vibration control. He has won the Croucher Prize awarded by the Hong Kong Government in 2006, and he also won the Robert H. Scanlan achievement award of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in 2012, which is the authoritative awards in international civil engineering. He has written many academic papers, in which more than 200 papers have been indexed by the SCI and cited by the other researchers over 1700 times. He has also published two academic monographs. He is the senior member of the ASCE, senior member of the  Hong Kong Institution of Engineering, the senior member of the American Institute of Engineering Mechanics. He is the vice editor-in-chief and editorial board member of nine international famous journals, for example Journal of Bridge Engineering, ASCE and Journal of Civil Structural Health Monitoring, etc. He has hosted 75 research projections at home and abroad and the total research grant is more than 50 million Hong Kong Currency. He has accomplished many famous engineering projections, such as The Tsing Ma Bridge in Hong Kong, Ang Chuan Zhou Bridge/Stonecaster Bridge in Hong Kong, China Central Television and Shanghai Center, which made him has very wide international academic influence.
